Enabling Objectives Matrix:

This section outlines how each enabling objective supports the terminal objectives. The objectives are sequncesd to scaffold learning through practical microlearning experiences grounded in cognitive, psychomotor, and affective domains.

Terminal Objective and Enabling Objectives

This section outlines the terminal objective for the microlearning series and how the enabling ojectives scaffold learning. These build step-by-step toward practical emotional regulation through daily use.

Terminal Objective:

During a guided journaling activity, learners will demonstrate their ability to use core resilience strategies by accurately identifying and explaining one tool they would apply in emotionally difficult situations.

Enabling Objectives:

    • Define the term "resilience” and explain what role it plays in dealing with our everyday stresses. (Cognitive – Remember, Understand)

    • State personal signs of stress or burnout (e.g., when the body becomes tired; when irritability arises or when one becomes emotionally removed). (Cognitive - Remember)

    • Identify the benefits and rationale of important resilience strategies: mindfulness, breathwork, and cognitive reframing. (Cognitive - Understand)

Terminal Objective:

Learners will use the tools and guided practices available in the Calm app to help them continue with their resilience-building efforts on a consistent basis.

Enabling Objectives:

o   Use Calm app breathing meditation to calm down emotionally. (Psychomotor – Guided Response)

o   Complete a reflective journal entry using Calm’s in-app prompts. (Psychomotor - Mechanism)

o   Use the Calm in-app habit tracker to monitor personal goals and improvement. (Psychomotor - Mechanism)

Terminal Objective:

Learners will reflect on how their emotions have transformed their own development after completing the 10-day practice series, and make a commitment to incorporating what they have learned into their everyday life.

Enabling Objectives:

    • Use the journaling tools in the Calm app to record daily emotional experiences and how your mindset has changed. (Affective - Responding, Valuing)

    • Learners reflect and gain insights on their emotional patterns during each module. Then, they use these reflections to prepare for the next level of the microlearning series to where the learner is building emotional resilience over time. (Affective - Valuing, Organizing)

    • Demonstrate increased self-confidence by using mindfulness, breathwork, and reframing techniques when stressful moments arise. (Affective - Valuing)
