ABOUT ANGELA

Angela Hyde is an educator and instructional designer who created The Still Point Framework around a problem she kept seeing in practice: the pieces can all be there and still not be aligned.

Her work focuses on the connections among standards, curriculum, instruction, evidence, specially designed instruction, intervention, people, and the decisions that follow. The Still Point serves as the anchor—the source of truth that the rest of the system needs to stay connected to.

The framework helps make visible where alignment is strong, where it breaks down, and what needs to change. A learner’s Foundational Access Point and the Instructional Bridge are part of that process, but they are not the framework itself. The goal is to keep the destination clear while changing the design, support, or response when the evidence shows that something is out of alignment.

The Still Point Framework is ultimately about getting the parts of a system to work together instead of asking people or learners to compensate for a system that does not.

That is the center of it: alignment.
